Jpg format is bad for saving sprites, pixel art and some other things, because it jumbles the pixels around in order to minimize file size.

I would like to add that jpeg is best kept for photos. Other things that don't have so many varied colours in them (like the sonic girl characters) are better as gif's or png's.

PNG is the best. Gif can be as bad as JPG. PNG PWNS YOU ALL!!! 8D

Maybe, I'm currently working on updating my sprites yet again, I need to fix the skin colour.
