Ideas to help improve activity?

I'd like to get some more members who'll actually post and contribute to the forums.

Not that I don't love you all, but it'd be nice to have some fresh faces here too, ya know?

Ideas for getting more active members are more then welcomed. ^^

One word: lasso. ^u^

But, seriously, I'd agree with advertising. Just be careful not to go to places full of self-righteous, argumentive, flaming scum, like one too many places I've seen lately.

Hmmm...but that leaves us with nothing, then. Except CH. And you can't exactly advertise about CH on CH. o___O

I will be bringing my Aika guild here, probably next week. That should result in a few more members. Assuming, of course, I can work out something with you or Link regarding forum space.

I have an idea.. Start an contest where members of this forum refer others and the referred member should post atleast 10 or any number you want (without spamming). And the member who refer more person wins.. :)
By this way old members will be benefited and you get new members as well :)

That's not a bad idea. :)

I just went through 970+ topics in the last 5mins. So here is my observation:

1. First & foremost you need to start considering the necessity to prune both -
a. The Garbage http://chibi.lomeproductions.com/forum/ ... m.php?f=10 (Highest Priority in pruning, consider perhaps 10-12 days or less)
b. SPAM Cannon http://chibi.lomeproductions.com/forum/ ... m.php?f=10 (lowest priority in pruning, consider perhaps 18-24 days or less)

Irregardless what audience your trying to bring, the site has too many unrelated spam topics that sway newly registered folks into madness and push away new people.

2. Consider hiring new moderators. Now that each category reeks an average of 1,000-3,000 or more posts, can provide the opportunity for you to assign a moderator per category to prune, lock, trash, and maintain cleanly the forum for anyone seeking help, wanting to post something new, and not see the place dead with posts from the year 2005, etc.

Suggestions:
1. Consider creating the following sub-categories (organization):
a. CH Caged Category > RP Stories (ALL Stories RP moved here)
b. CH Caged Category > Graphic Design (Sprites, drawing, animation here)
c. CH Caged Category > Media Design (Video, Cam, Altered songs here)
d. CH Caged Category > Creative Writing (all poems, ALL non-RP stories here)
e. CH The other branches > Active Branches/Affiliates
d. CH The other branches > Deactivated Branches/Affiliates/Guilds
Note: Remove all outdated links. It just piles more to spam
e. CH Gaming Zone > Programming (for all codes, scripting, pserver-SQL-XNA discussions)
f. CH Gaming Zone > Gaming Events/Contests
g. [optional] CH Gaming Zone > Gaming APPs (for mac, linux, windows users with iphone/ipad)
h. CH Helpdesk > Solved (for solved questions throughout the forum)

Estimated time of the above: <1hour

I just finished cleaning up the SPAM cannon.
