Final Fantasy IV. I'm coming close to refusing to play it ever again. Yang and Cid both just died due to storyline plot in one go. Like...wtf?

I'm at the end of the game now. I can't beat it because every time I run into a red dragon, it kills my entire team in 2 rounds with thermal rays, so I'm completing the Namingway quests.

And the flamehounds are a bit tough, but once you get some ice weapons, you can grind off them. I think you'll agree that they're WAY easier than the ice dealies in Golbez's tower or even the flamehound you have to fight in order to get that ice sword (which I never did because I was too pissed off that it killed my entire team in one hit the first time ).

I've finished FF4 heaps of times, I know every plot twist in the storyline.

I managed to get out of the Tower of Babil...as you know, because Cid died. I got all the Ice pieces (Sword, Shield and Armour) And this is my current equipment list for Cecil, Kain, Rosa and Rydia;

Cecil - Dwarven Axe, Flame Shield, headband, Flame Mail, Giant's Gloves
Rosa - Killer Bow, Silencing Arrows, Gold Hairpin, Sage's Surplice, Rune Armlet
Kain - Ice Lance, Ice Sheild, Green Beret, Ice Armour, Power Armlet
Rydia - Whip, Gold Hairpin, Luminous Robe, Rune Armlet

Im about to go buy some new stuff for Rydia with my shiny 71k Gil. Just wanna check if that's good for now?

I should have mentioned that I'm currently switching the Dwarven Axe with the Ice Brand and Rosa's arrows to the Ice Arrows when needed. Everyone is also LV. 40+.

I don't remember them completely dying in the original version. If they freaking changed it, then I will quite possibly NEVER play the DS version, EVER!

Back-on-topic: I'm contemplating between playing Mario Kart Wii, SSBB, or I might play Pokémon Pearl, since I'm still in the beginning and I found where my nephews hid it.

I hope to god you wern't talking about Edge being the -BETTER- character.

I'd prefer Yang anyday please. I was doing anything between 3-4.5k damage with him. Edge barely scrapes 1k. ;-;

Yang isn't even in Edge's league. Once you reach a certain point in the game (I won't divulge, since it involves spoilers), Edge will do max damage. Every time.

If you're still dealing with Yang though, you're nowhere near that point.
